Clean beach cooperation continues!
Several beach cleaning events are organised in May 2018 within our common Clean beach banner in Helsinki, Turku, Tallinn and St. Petersburg. Additionally Baltic Sea Challenge and Clean Beach campaign invite Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC) member cities to organise their own events in other cities in the region.
In Helsinki and Turku the Baltic Sea Challenge Clean beach events are organised on Thursday 3 May and in Tallinn on Saturday 5 May. In St. Petersburg the event is organised in 12 May. Additionally in Turku there will be Keep Archipelago Tidy Association's Clean beach events on Tuesday 2 May upsetream of Aurajoki and in cooperation with Ruisrock on Saturday 5 May. Like recent years events, you can participate to clean the beaches, wonder installations made from marine litter, get advice on how to recycle and sorting of trash, and a lot of information on effects that marine litter has to our waterways and the Baltic Sea.

Clean beach event in Helsinki at 13-16 around Töölönlahti Bay, in cooperation with "Culture cleans up the sea" event (event page in Finnish), participants from e.g. Finlandia Hall, Diakonia Institute and National Opera. Vice Mayor of Helsinki, Mrs. Anni Sinnemäki gives the opening speech. Part of the Clean Beach campaign.
- 5.5. Clean beach event in Tallinn at 10.30 (event page in Estonian) on Stroomi Beach in cooperation with the BLASTIC project. Greetings by Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Mrs. Züleyxa Izmailova, Head of Northern Tallinn Administration Mr. Raimond Kaljulaid and the representative of City Government of St. Petersbur Mr.Ivan Serebritski.
